Mountain Top Golf & Country Club—

Cashiers, North Carolina

Design inspirations were drawn from the historic Blue Ridge Mountain range and the American homestead architecture prevalent in the region. The main floor, with the warm entry as the heart of the mountain lodge, leads into the bar lounge area with grand views of the golf course. The Lounge has several small areas for groups to gather and enjoy the elegant wood fireplace, private dining, or outdoor seating. Off the bar/lounge lies the main dining room, reminiscent of the Southern sunroom, ideal for guests to enjoy the community atmosphere and surrounding mountain views. Sophisticated furnishings in a style derived from the high mountain lodge create a rustic yet elegant club environment. Each of the five unique guestrooms has a local theme relating to the mountain surroundings. Many have four poster beds, and all have fireplaces with antique tiles and private soaking tubs. Warm colors and textures complement the natural surroundings.

The men’s and women’s locker rooms have private lounges and spa facilities. The Pro Shop, adjacent to the main clubhouse, has a boutique atmosphere that retains the notion of a large, luxury home. Materials and finishes include local reclaimed wood for ceilings, beams, columns, and flooring. Mountain Lodge's historic black and white tiles brighten the spa and locker areas. Wrought iron light fixtures and hardware, copper accents, and antique glass are featured throughout the interiors. Design inspiration for the carpets and fabrics is drawn from the mountain palette.
