I simply love having fresh flowers in the house. It is one of those simple pleasures that gives me so much joy. I tend to make my own flower arrangements every week and it is actually pretty inexpensive (around $10 to $12 total for multiple arrangements). After 5 years of doing it weekly, I have gotten pretty good at it and really enjoy the time to pick the right flowers and putting it together. I keep lots of vases, mason jars and milk jars on hand so I can put anything together. I buy them all at Michaels and they are so inexpensive. Whenever I go to someone’s house for dinner I usually make a quick arrangement and bring it as a hostess gift. One friend asked if I had a cabinet full of mason jars (I actually do!). For the special occasion though I am obsessed with Apis Floral, plus there shop is adorable, don’t be fooled by the location – in fact my bet is that this last part of Lincoln Avenue is getting cooler and cooler #urbansprawl
Here are a few photos to entice you to go to their shop.
I also love Highway 92 Succulents!
Ok back to making your own arrangements. When I happen to be going over 92 I always stop at Repetto Florist and Nursery. In the back they have fresh cut flowers for as low as $3 a bunch. I usually buy the roses for $6 and the mums for $3. Score!
Otherwise if I am staying local I browse through Trader Joes – their mums are good and a great price but their roses don’t last. Their armaments are great and I’ll break it out into multiple arrangements as seen below. I also love Safeway’s dozen roses for $9.99. They last way longer than their 5-day guarantee. Below are some pictures of arrangements I have made but have fun and you will get the hang of it. It took me a few tries before it just came easy and enjoyable.
