1920 Remodel —
Rose Garden, California
This renovation celebrates the charm of a 1920s home while bringing it into a new era of comfort and function. The project focused on transforming the kitchen, bathrooms, and mudroom-laundry area into cohesive, inviting spaces that blend handcrafted details with modern design sensibilities.
The kitchen became the heart of the home, featuring a stunning handcrafted design with a large quartzite-topped island—perfect for gathering and entertaining. Pops of navy blue add depth and character, while custom backsplash tiles lend a touch of artisan texture and warmth. Arched openings—echoing the home’s original architectural language—create graceful transitions between rooms, tying old and new together seamlessly.
In the bathrooms, large-format tiles and soft textures create a spa-like atmosphere, complemented by modern fixtures and subtle curves that nod to the home’s history. The reimagined mudroom and laundry space maximize functionality without sacrificing style, offering smart storage and durable finishes suited for everyday life.
The result is a thoughtful renovation that honors the 1920s architecture while introducing a fresh, modern sensibility. Every detail—from the handcrafted kitchen to the textured arches—was designed to make the home more beautiful, more functional, and more connected to its timeless character.
